Getting started
Keeper Wallet is a secure storage of your Waves account keys that enables you to interact with third-party web resources safely. Seed phrases, private keys, and passwords of email accounts are encrypted with your Keeper password and stored on your device; other applications cannot access them. Transaction confirmation does not require you to enter any sensitive information.
  1. 1.
Install Keeper Wallet via the link on the official website.
    The
icon will appear in your browser's extension bar: click it to open the Keeper window. You can lock the icon so that the browser won't hide it.
  2. 2.
Click Get Started in the Keeper window.
  3. 3.
Protect your account with a password.
⚠️ The password you entered is applicable only in a certain browser on a certain device and is used to encrypt account data. The Waves blockchain does not store your passwords. If you lose your device or forget your password, you can restore your account from a seed phrase or from a backup file (more on this below).
  4. 4.
Read the Terms and Conditions and click Continue.
Now you need to create a new account or import an existing account.

Create new account

  1. 1.
    Click Create a new account.
  2. 2.
Select the address avatar and click Continue.
  3. 3.
Enter the account name. Only you will see it. Then click Create backup.
  4. 4.
Important: carefully write down 15-words seed phrase on paper or copy them to paste and save in a text file. After that click Continue.
  5. 5.
Confirm backup phrase by placing the words in the correct order and click Confirm.
  6. 6.
    Click Finish.
After that, you will see the main Keeper window.
Use the buttons:
  • to copy your WAVES address,
  • to display a QR code which contains your Waves address.
⚠️ Security information
  • The seed phrase or the private key derived from it provide complete control over the account, including the ability to dispose of funds. Do not give your seed phrase or private key to anyone, and do not publish or send them.
  • The seed phrase cannot be changed: another seed phrase (even one that differs by a single character) will generate a different key pair, and therefore a different account.
  • If you lose your secret phrase and private key, you will no longer be able to access your account permanently. We strongly encourage you to write down the secret phrase on a piece of paper and store it in a safe place.
