Getting started

Keeper Wallet is a secure storage of your Waves account keys that enables you to interact with third-party web resources safely. Secret phrases, private keys, and passwords of email accounts are encrypted with your Keeper password and stored on your device; other applications cannot access them. Signing transactions does not require you to enter any sensitive information.

  1. Install Keeper Wallet via the link on the official website.

  2. In the Keeper window, select the language you prefer.

  3. Click Get Started.

  4. Protect your account with a password.

⚠️ The password you entered is applicable only in a certain browser on a certain device and is used to encrypt account data. The Waves blockchain does not store your passwords. If you lose your device or forget your password, you can restore your account from a secret phrase or from a backup file (more on this below).

  5. Read the Terms and Conditions and click Continue.

Now you need to create a new account or import an existing account.

  1. Click Create a new account.

  2. Select the address avatar and click Continue.

  3. Important: carefully write down 15-words secret phrase on paper or copy them to paste and save in a text file. After that click Continue.

  5. Enter the account name. Only you will see it. Then click Continue.

  6. Click Finish.

Use the buttons:

⚠️ Security information

  • The secret phrase or private key derived from it provide complete control over the account, including the ability to dispose of funds. Do not give your secret phrase or private key to anyone, and do not publish or send them.

  • The secret phrase cannot be changed: another secret phrase (even one that differs by a single character) will generate a different key pair, and therefore a different account.

  • If you lose your secret phrase and private key, you cannot restore access to your account. We strongly encourage you to write down the secret phrase on a piece of paper and store it in a safe place.
